While waiting I figure I do an update on March's presecription; hit the concrete. Whether your on your bike or on a new pair of Nike Frees, Pumas, or Adidas. There are three running shoes that are a top the market this spring, The Nike Free Run+ 2, Adidas ClimaCool Ride, and Vibram Fivefingers.
The new Nike frees are quite impressive, with a new outer new set of fun colorways. They are equally, if not more, durable than the past season of frees and are fully equiped witha barefoot like feel. While giving the foot the most cushion and protection, the frees allow for the most range of motion. It has a fuzed philite midsole and outsole for probably the best ride out of the three. Like the last frees, the bottom outsole is cutt up in segments making the shoe maleable and very flexible.
The Adidas ClimaCool Rides are making a huge showing in the U.S. and around the globe. Adidas has been a little behind the running game when compared to such running inspired companies like Nike, Puma, or Saucony. The ClimaCool Rides are both COOL with 360' ventilation and Light weighing only 8.9 ounces. The mesh upper embodies a similar feel to the frees and its predesessor. The shoe also responds great to harsh impact and is known for being constructed from a stronger upper.
You ever hear of the barefoot runner, the foot glove, the weird thing them Oregonians wear. They are from the same company that collaborated with dress shoe and handbag powerhouse Cole Haan. Before creating these toe by toe all purpose shoes, Vibram was incorporated in dress shoes. The Vibram company makes many of the same claims creators of the ClimaCool and Frees make. The Fivefinger shoe "allows you to land on your forefoot, directly below your center of gravity, resulting in optimum balance, increased stability, less impact and greater propulsion. Running in FiveFingers delivers sensory feedback that improves agility and equilibrium and allows immediate form correction. In addition it stimulates and strengthens muscles in the feet and lower legs" (vibramfivefingers.com) Look, yea, ok they do look a tad bit funny. They are somewhat fashionable but seriously, I've see more people in Walmart wearing these that out and about in the city. I would rock them, but would be hesitant to pair them with jeans and a polo (a regular outfit for the tigard, or area).
